Membership Info

The Saranac Art Projects will strive to maintain a full membership number of twenty-four (24) artists or curators throughout the year. If there are no openings the applications will be reviewed and filed for future consideration.

Members typically get a yearly exhibition in one of the two gallery spaces. The gallery is located in the heart of downtown Spokane and during regular times, attracts a large number of visitors. First Friday art opening events are popular and lively. Though selling work is not the top priority of SAP, sales do happen. SAP takes 20% commission on all sales, artists get the rest.

New members must commit to 12 months of membership once accepted.

In addition to a monthly $50 membership fee, SAP members must participate in the duties of managing the gallery. Members must take a 4 hour shift once a month to keep the gallery open. This responsibility includes opening or closing the space and interacting with the public as they enter the space. During your shift members are expected to post images and announcements on social media to maintain communication and interest in the gallery. Members are expected to open and close during the night of their exhibition opening.

Members must participate in monthly meetings at least 75% of the time and will be expected to take on bigger tasks/asks as needed throughout the year commitment.

Members also take on the responsibility of hanging and de-installing their own exhibitions (as well as clean up and wall prep for the next artist).
